Self-love and healing is a journey of returning to your authentic self.

A lot of the time, we don’t go on the voyage voluntarily. It kinda finds us. We’ve probably been traumatized into it by growing sick or depressed by the same old patterns of self-destruction representing themselves in our lives. We decide to make changes. And that takes courage. Not everyone will like you or agree with you, or the changes you are making towards self-care.

They may be used to you handing over your self-esteem to make them feel better about themselves. Its gonna involve disappointing them. But its better than constantly disappointing yourself.

It becomes easier to live with disproval than trying to be someone/something you are not. Stay true to you. Your values, beliefs, and desires. You’ll eventually gravitate towards others/situations where compromising on your authenticity isn’t necessary for you to belong. Be you. Be authentic. Of all the things you can compromise in this world, don’t compromise on your authentic self.

Approval is short lived and needs constant repetition. It is an addiction to low self-worth. It is the soul’s journey to heal this self-destructive pattern. When you do, you give yourself and others in your life a gift. Be that gift giver. Firstly to you, then share the magic through ur action of demonstrating self-love.
