9.30 Keynote Speaker: Ruth Bradbrook: ‘Working creatively and actively with young people using Choice Theory’

Ruth is a Reality Therapy and Choice Theory Instructor with the WGI-UK Faculty. Her background is teaching Choice Theory to young people, especially those who are from challenging circumstances. She is the Co-Founding Director at Developing Youth Practice whose mission is to support and develop the youth sector workforce by using Choice Theory to build aspirations and promote sustainable behaviour change. Ruth loves to be active and has a strong need for fun! Her Keynote will be interactive and fun,. Drawing on her extensive experience working with young people, she will share a range of fun and engaging activities and games to teach key concepts from Choice Theory to young people and facilitate learning from the lived experience.

2.30: KEYNOTE: Padraig O’Morain: Self-Compassion and the Quality World


Self-compassion has been defined as friendship towards the person you are now, combined with an awareness of what we have in common with other people, and mindfulness. Padraig O’Morain, author of ‘Kindfulness – be a true friend to yourself with mindful self-compassion’, will look at how we can use self-compassion as a filter to help us make good choices between our quality world pictures. Padraig is certified in Choice Theory and his books include ideas – acknowledged – from Dr Glasser’s work. He writes a weekly column, That’s Men, for The Irish Times Health supplement.
