It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Alethea Holistic and Healing Services as a company has not survived Covid.
We gave it our best shot, but I can no longer continue to pay overheads while our premises remain closed to the general public.
The nature of my work is face to face, and although online support is available, I have not been able to facilitate face to face or group work since March 2020. With focus on all of our safety whilst adhering to HSE and my governing body requirements, I do not see a change in this situation in the foreseeable future.
With that in mind, I needed to make serious decisions around the future of Alethea. Alethea has existed for 16 years supporting clients and our local and wider communities. I am deeply privileged to have shared every moment with you. I thank you all so deeply for choosing Alethea to be your support.
My personal journey began 30 years ago when I decided to seek support in my own personal life. It helped me so much that I began a life long journey of self-discovery and growth. It was a natural progression for me to train to become that support for others. Alethea formed out of that vision.
“Pay it forward” became my personal philosophy, and many people who walked through the doors of Alethea went on to “pay it forward”. You inspire me. Although I’ve needed to make a tough decision in the closure of Alethea Holistic and Healing Services, I also feel that it is the right and wise decision. Nothing has been lost, and everything has been gained.
I want to thank our incredible team at Alethea who have supported me through the years. Past and present, we stood together and worked hard in everything we did as a team. I will hold those memories forever. We worked together to promote mental health, raise hope, support, education, awareness and connection. And we had a lot of growth and fun while we were doing it.
Most of all, I want to thank my clients. I am honoured you chose me as your therapist. Every single soul that I have had the privilege to work with, clients, students, therapists, trainee therapists, supervisees, colleagues, organizations, I thank YOU so deeply for inviting me to share in YOUR journey. For sharing your story with me. It has been my absolute privilege to share with you all through those years.
I have attempted to personally inform as many as possible of my decision, and I’m also aware that you may be reading this for the first time, and if you are, I want to reassure you that I have not gone anywhere. I am privileged that the connections we’ve formed are lifelong connections. I don’t believe withdrawing from therapeutic work will ever be a choice I’ll make, so please remember, Alethea is ending, but I am still here. I will be continuing to work with you.
We have beginnings, middles, and endings, and a good ending paves the way for the new beginning that will follow. Alethea Holistic and Healing Services will end on December 31st 2020. I bow my head to it, I thank it for everything it gave to us, it served us well, I let it go, and I look forward to our new beginnings. Together.
To all of YOU, I say “thank you”. It’s been a great journey. Our incredible and inspirational team, our clients, service users, visitors, and friends of Alethea, past and present, thank YOU. Thank you for bringing “YOU” to Alethea. I look forward to our new and continued journey together in 2021.
